ABOUT US

THE COMMUNITY HAVEN IS A 501(c)(3) NON-PROFIT ESTABLISHED IN 2017.

In 2019, Community Haven purchased a 5-acre site at 815 North Hickory Street located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This building was the old location of the St. Francis Catholic School for African Americans, the former Tennessee Correctional Workhouse, and the former 28th Legislative District Community Development Corporation property which closed in 2012.

The area in which Community Haven resides is known as "Bushtown" , which was the first black incorporated township in all of America.

Here at the Community Haven, we have the ambition to change the lives of inner city Chattanooga through centers for training, leadership, youth and family outreach, small businesses, and community initiatives for thousands of Chattanooga’s undeserved residents.
